Fulham boss Martin Jol has revealed that the club have accepted a bid from Tottenham for playmaker Moussa Dembele, believed to be in the region of £15 million.
Dembele’s performance in his team’s 3-2 defeat to Manchester United on the weekend, illustrated why he has so many admirers.
Real Madrid were said to be interested in the Belgian, as were the Red Devils. Sir Alex Ferguson attempted to sign the midfielder at the beginning of the summer window, but United’s £5 million offer was rejected by the Cottagers, who were holding out for three times that amount.
Dembele’s contract with Fulham isn’t due to expire until 2014, therefore Martin Jol is under no pressure to sell on the cheap.
With Spurs looking to replace the recently departed Luka Modric, Andre Villas Boas clearly feels Dembele is the man for the job. The 25-year-old now just needs to agree personal terms with spurs before completing his move to White Hart Lane.
Meanwhile, Fulham are in talks with Kieran Richardson after agreeing a fee for the full-back with Sunderland. Black Cats boss Martin O’Neill confirmed the Wearsiders have accepted an offer for the 27-year-old.
