'From what I'm told': Fabrizio Romano has issued Robert Lewandowski transfer update

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester United have recently been linked with Robert Lewandowski.

According to 90Min, the Gunners, Spurs, the Blues and the Red Devils have been informed of the Poland star’s situation.

There is certainly scope for all four clubs to bring in a new centre-forward, particularly one of Lewandowski’s quality.

Arsenal are desperate for a new striker, while Tottenham could really do with competition for Harry Kane.

As for Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a Serie A return, while Marcus Rashford’s Manchester United future is uncertain.

Lewandowski is hoping to leave Bayern Munich this summer after eight years at the Bundesliga giants.

“I spoke to Lewa,” Bayern director Hasan Salihamidzic told Sky Germany last week, via Buli News.

“During the conversation, he told me that he doesn’t want to accept our offer to extend his contract and that he would like to leave the club.

“He said that he would like to try something new. But our position has not changed. Lewa has a contract until June 30, 2023. That is a fact.”

“His total priority”

Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Lewandowski’s future, on YouTube and then on Twitter.

Sadly, it’s not good news for Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea or Manchester United.

Romano said on YouTube: “From what I’m told, Robert Lewandowski has already decided his next club as priority: Barcelona Football Club.

“Lewandowski wants to go to Barcelona. So his total priority will be for Barca.”

Romano stressed that Bayern and Barca will have to negotiate, with the former needing a replacement and the latter needing to sell other players.

Nonetheless, he made it very clear that Lewandowski only wants to play for the Blaugrana.

And on Thursday, Romano followed it up with a further development on Lewandowski and Barca.

Lewandowski remains one of the best and most prolific strikers in the world.

He has registered a staggering 344 goals and 72 assists from 374 Bayern appearances.

Lewandowski has also netted 75 times for Poland.
