Arsenal insiders are confident that Gabriel Martinelli is going to stay, with Charles Watts claiming on his YouTube channel that contract talks are going well.
Martinelli has really stepped up for the Gunners this season and is starting to show his ability at the very top level.
The 21-year-old put in another eye-catching display yesterday during Arsenal’s 3-2 Liverpool at the Emirates. Martinelli grabbed an early goal and set-up Bukayo Saka for his side’s second goal of the game.
The Brazilian winger caused Liverpool problems all afternoon with his direct running and movement off the ball.
Arsenal fans may have had some fears over the fact his contract only runs until 2024. But Watts says the club are confident he will put pen to paper soon.

Arsenal insiders confident over Martinelli contract
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Watts provided an update on the negotiations between Arsenal and Martinelli.
“The contract talks are ongoing with Martinelli, they’re going pretty well from what I hear,” he said.
“I don’t think there’s any fear from people that I speak to that there’s going to be much of a problem when it comes to getting Martinelli to sign a new contract.
“Arsenal are not in that bad of a situation when it comes to him. Yes there’s two years left on his current deal but they do have a two year option in that deal, so they could extend it to 2026.
“So, they’re not in any rush when it comes to Martinelli. There’s no real worry there.”

Watts also claims that Arsenal are relaxed about Martinelli’s contract extension. But his most recent renewal in 2019 means he isn’t a high-earner at the club and the Gunners are keen to reward him for his brilliant form.
He added: “They know they need to reward him with a proper new contract and give him the sort of money that he’s worth.”
Arsenal fans will be delighted to hear that the club are confident over Martinelli signing a new deal.
Arteta’s side now have a potent front-three with the Brazilian playing alongside Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.
Arsenal will be keen to tie Martinelli down on a new long-term deal as the winger clearly has an even brighter future ahead of him.
