'From day one': Marsch wowed by how well 25-year-old Leeds ace has adapted to his methods

Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch has praised Jack Harrison for how quickly he has adapted to the American’s methods.

The Elland Road boss was speaking to the press on Thursday, ahead of Saturday’s Premier League trip to Brentford.

Harrison was also being linked with a move away from Leeds in the latter stages of the transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United were eyeing the 25-year-old, the latter reportedly making a bid.

However, Angus Kinnear had made it very clear on Tuesday night that Leeds weren’t doing business over Harrison.

In his programme notes ahead of the Everton draw, Kinnear wrote: “We have rebuffed numerous offers for players that are still core to our playing strategy.

“Including one that, based on its value, was only for Jack Harrison’s right leg.”

And Marsch made it clear that Harrison was “non-negotiable”, adding that he expects the winger to keep getting better and better.

“Yes Jack has been great,” Leeds Live quote Marsch as saying.

“From day one I think he’s been one of the players who has adapted best to what we’re trying to do now.

“I think he’s having a really excellent start to the season and so he’s happy here.

“I haven’t even discussed anything with Jack about transfers because for us it’s a non-negotiable situation.

“Jack has even more room for improvement and I think he will continue to do so.”

Harrison has made 171 competitive appearances for Leeds, registering 29 goals and 25 assists.

This season, the £11million man has played in all five league games for the Whites, bagging one goal and three assists.
