Anthony Martial isn’t far off being eligible for a Manchester United testimonial.
The Frenchman has been at Old Trafford for almost 10 years now after his £53m move from Monaco, and it’s fair to say he’s had an up-and-down time of it in Manchester.
The attacker has looked like a world-class prospect at times, but in recent years, he’s been nothing short of a waste of time for the Red Devils.
Speaking on Stick to Football, Gary Neville and Ian Wright have been debating whether or not Martial should be sold in the near future, and both men agreed it was time for the attacker to go.
Wright actually reckons that United should’ve cut ties with Martial a while ago, but Neville thinks that the club haven’t sold the 28-year-old because they’re scared of what he could go on to do at another club.

United have been scared of selling Martial
Neville shared his verdict on the attacker.
“Martial?” Neville asked.
“It’s one of the saddest thing, his emergence and he’s done nothing since then, the man has done nothing, they should’ve gotten rid of him, Mourinho wanted to,” Wright said.
“Yeah, they were frightened to death of him going somewhere and doing something. Every manager has had the same problem of him coming back to hurt us,” Neville said.
Understandable
Of course, it’s hard to excuse Martial’s recent performances of United, but, at the same time, it’s understandable why United haven’t wanted to get rid of him.
Martial has shown plenty of potential at times at Old Trafford, and selling a player like that can come back to bite you very easily.
The Red Devils know that all too well after letting Paul Pogba go before buying him back for £89m, and they won’t have wanted a repeat with Martial.
However, now, at the age of 28, Martial probably isn’t ever going to hit those heights, and it may be time for United to sell up and let him go.
