Both Tottenham and Arsenal are keen on signing French midfielder Adrien Rabiot, but they’ll want to steer clear of how he was rated against Denmark tonight.

Rabiot is said to be on the radar of the North London duo. Reports have suggested in recent days that Tottenham are ready to press on with their interest in the Frenchman. Arsenal are also known to admire Rabiot, alongside fellow London rivals Chelsea.

The midfielder was in action tonight as France played Denmark. However, looking at the reaction of the media to his performance, it doesn’t make good reading for Arsenal and Spurs fans.

“Following one of his finest France performances against Australia, Rabiot was brought back down to earth against Denmark. He failed to impose himself on the game as play largely passed him by for large periods. He was at fault for not telegraphing Christensen’s run for the equaliser, and he wasn’t tight enough in the defensive phases throughout,” GetFootballNewsFrance wrote.

Of course, Rabiot’s performance was just one off night. And in the end, France won anyway. But with clubs and fans looking closely, it was a worrying individual display from the Juventus man.

TBR’s View: Rabiot inconsistencies nothing new

That performance pretty much sums up Rabiot’s career. He was part of a team that won the game but in the main, offered precious little in terms of impact.

We all know Rabiot is a good player on his day. He did well against Australia and while he struggled today at times, there is more to him.

With how France are playing, there’ll be more chances for Spurs and Arsenal fans to see Rabiot. If he can perform how he did in the opening game a bit more, then there’s a lot for those fans to look out for and enjoy.
