Each summer transfer window comes with its fair share of players becoming free agents following the expiry of their contracts. There are often bargains to be had because of this. This summer will be no different. Amongst the Premier League stars set to become free agents this summer is Daniel Sturridge.
The striker will leave Liverpool after six years with the Reds. In his time at Anfield, Sturridge briefly became one of the top strikers in the league and established himself as England’s first choice forward. However, injuries then struck and the 29-year-old failed to regain his form and fitness for any sustained period.

The 26-cap England man needs a fresh start. As a free agent, there should be plenty of top flight clubs willing to offer him that chance. West Ham United would be wise to seriously consider signing Sturridge on a free transfer this summer.
Sturridge is a proven clinical finisher who would add some quality depth to Manuel Pellegrini’s ranks. If the attacker could maintain his fitness he could even mount a serious challenge to be a regular starter for the Hammers.
Signing Sturridge would be a cost-effective way for the Irons to bring in a genuine competitor for the likes of Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic.
