Freddie Ljungberg has admitted that he’s been an admirer of Tottenham forward Heung-Min Son for a long time, after his match-winning display at the weekend against Arsenal in the Premier League.
The South Korean left-winger scored one and assisted another in a 2-0 victory at home to bitter rivals Arsenal, which was played in front of a crowd of 2,000 supporters.
Jose Mourinho’s side retained their spot at the top of the Premier League table with another three points and are slowly building a case to suggest they could be genuine title contenders this campaign.
Son has been one of the most in-form players across Europe, scoring 13 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
The 28-year-old has a telepathic partnership with striker Kane and the duo combined for both goals against Arsenal.
Former Arsenal interim boss and coach Ljungberg has praised Son after his performance in the North London derby on Sunday:
“I think they [Spurs] were worthy winners, tactically they were spot on. I don’t think they surprised any of us with sitting back a little bit waiting and having those two top, top players with Son and Harry Kane up front. I’ve been a big admirer of Son for a long, long time,” he told Sky Sports’ Main Event channel (7:22pm, 7 December).

TBR’s View:
Despite going under the radar across the Premier League in recent years, Son is certainly starting to have his name put up in lights this season and rightfully so.
The dazzling wide player is just two goals short of 100 goals in all competitions for Spurs and he’s become such a consistent scorer for Spurs, which is largely down to the combination alongside England captain Kane.
It’s so difficult for opposition defenders to control Son when he comes flying infield from the left flank and he would surely get into most team’s in the world based on his current form.
