Fraser Forster has shared the message Ange Postecoglou gave the Tottenham Hotspur squad after his appointment that he continues to come back to.
Ange Postecoglou has transformed Spurs. It is easy now to forget just what a mess the club appeared to be in last season. Had it not been for the form of Harry Kane, Tottenham may have been on the periphery of a relegation battle. Certainly, there did not appear to be anyone who was sad to see the end of the previous campaign.
But Postecoglou picked up the pieces and put Tottenham into Premier League title contention. They remain in the top-four mix. And they have undoubtedly been one of the best teams to watch over the season.
Fraser Forster shares what Ange Postecoglou told Tottenham squad in initial meetings
It seems that everyone at all levels has brought into what Postecoglou wants. And when you hear him speak, you can understand why.

Speaking on That Peter Crouch Podcast, Fraser Forster shared what Postecoglou said to the players shortly after his arrival from Celtic.
“I think the big thing when he first came in was you need to be a family,” he said.
“You need to think of each other as family. So say in a game, something happens to him, he’s a family member. Whereas if you’re strangers, ‘he can sort it out’. He wants everyone to be so close and so together.
“He keeps coming back to that, like that’s the standards. If you’re going to press, you’ll press together. So basically he brought everyone into a little group and everyone’s brought into it. That’s been the big thing.”
A man-management master
Postecoglou’s man management skills appear to be one of his greatest strengths. James Maddison has previously spoken of being blown away by the meetings Postecoglou holds. And Forster is clearly a huge admirer.
You only have to look at the improvement a number of players have made. The likes of Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Yves Bissouma, Heung-min Son and Richarlison were amongst those who really struggled last season.
They have all been massive players under Postecoglou. And his ability to manage those characters is probably a key reason why they have been so much better this season.
