Frank Lampard wants to sign Ismaila Sarr for Everton - journalist
Football journalist Simon Phillips has claimed that Everton are really interested in Watford winger Ismaila Sarr, but the Senegal star is aiming for a bigger club.
Sarr has been linked with a move away from Watford for a long, long time now. It just hasn’t happened for him, but with the January transfer window right around the corner, he may finally get his wish.
Frank Lampard is apparently very keen to sign him, but convincing Sarr may prove to be difficult.

Sarr has had a good season for Watford in the Championship.
The 24-year-old, branded as a ‘frightening’ player by Ben Foster on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, has scored six goals and provided three assists so far.
He managed to score a goal at the World Cup for Senegal as well, and he’ll surely be on a few clubs’ radar when the January transfer window opens in 15 days’ time.
Phillips has revealed that Lampard wants Sarr at Everton, but he feels the Senegal international doesn’t quite fancy a move to Goodison Park at this moment in time.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “I don’t think he’s reached his full potential yet, but he’s definitely got something about him, and he could reach that potential.
“I don’t know whether he would go to a club like Everton, though, I think he would probably set his sights a little bit higher than that. But it’d be an interesting one to see if anything develops there.
“Lampard has definitely got an interest in him.”
TBR View:
Everton are 17th in the Premier League table at the moment, having won just three of their first 15 games.
They’re just a point above 18th-placed Nottingham Forest and just four above the bottom of the Premier League table. All things point towards another relegation battle for the Toffees, and if they aren’t careful, they might not get lucky this time.
To make sure they’re safe, Everton have to strengthen in the January transfer window, and Sarr would be a really interesting option in attack.
Whether Lampard and co will be able to convince him to move to Goodison Park, however, remains to be seen.
