Current Chelsea boss Lampard played under Ancelotti at Stamford Bridge and enjoyed success and a good working relationship with the Italian.

And Lampard, speaking ahead of the weekend clash, admits he has huge respect for the Everton boss. (quotes via Sky)

“I’ve been influenced by people and I was influenced by him as a player and as a man at the time. He’s right at the top when I speak about the managers I’ve worked with – his huge success he has had in his career, working at various clubs and one-to-one I found him a great coach and a great man.”

Five points separate the teams in the Premier League table. Chelsea have picked up of late, while Everton are struggling to match their stunning start to the campaign.

But, whatever the score, it seems Lampard will be more than happy to catch up with his old manager this weekend.

Not many have a bad word to say about Carlo Ancelotti and from the outside looking in, it’s easy to see why.

He appears to be a great man manager as well as being clever tactically. Indeed, you don’t have the success he has enjoyed without having plenty about you as a person.

Lampard’s words are a nice touch here and it’s great to see the respect on show.
