Rangers’ youth academy have confirmed on Twitter that four young starlets have agreed contract extensions to remain at Ibrox beyond the end of the season – and three of those have posted on Twitter, including Brian Kinnear.

Goalkeeper Kinnear, 19, was out of contract after spending time on loan at Camelon this season – but he will now stay at Rangers at least for another season. Midfielders Jack Thomson and Robbie Fraser have also signed new deals.

Both Thomson and Fraser are Scotland Under-16 internationals – the latter of which previously had a contract until 2021. Thomson, meanwhile, is the eldest of the four at 20, with his previous deal expiring in June.

Lastly, Alex Lowry has signed a new deal as he continues his search of first-team football at the tender age of 16. Rangers’ youth academy confirmed contracts for the four Rangers youngsters on Twitter.

Thomson is the only one of the three players to come close to a first-team debut, having sat on the bench as an unused substitute during Rangers’ 4-0 Scottish Cup win over Dundee back in March 2016.

The other three players reacted on Twitter after it was confirmed they had signed new deals – in the form of Lowry, Fraser and Kinnear. It is unclear as to how long their new deals will last, though Lowry stated himself his will expire in 2022.
