It is transfer deadline day and Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to conclude what has been a mixed transfer window for the Premier League club.
The club have signed Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke this summer, although the latter was immediately sent back to Leeds United on loan. Meanwhile, Kieran Trippier and Vincent Janssen followed Michel Vorm and Fernando Llorente out the exit door.
So what deals could Tottenham pull off on deadline day?
The two deals that appear likely to happen are Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso. As reported by The Telegraph, Tottenham are hopeful of pulling off both deals today.
Tottenham are ‘cautiously hopeful’ of securing a deal for Lo Celso. The report suggests a £55 million fee could now be accepted by Real Betis after weeks of negotiations.
The report states that a deal to sign Sessegnon will cost Tottenham £20 million-plus Josh Onomah in exchange.
BBC Sport’s David Ornstein reported last night that the Fulham youngster is set to have a medical at Tottenham tomorrow morning.
Philippe Coutinho has previously been linked with a loan move to Spurs. However, as reported by the BBC, Tottenham have ended their interest in a deal.
Paulo Dybala remains the most likely shock signing from Tottenham on deadline day. As reported by The Independent, Tottenham have agreed a deal with Juventus for the Argentine and are willing to meet his wage demands.
However, problems regarding his image rights are holding up any deal.
Tottenham also need a new right-back to replace Trippier. It seems the most likely target is Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj. The Albanian is available for £23 million but, as reported by Goal, Tottenham could try and sign him for £18 million.
With Lo Celso and Sessegnon looking nailed on, Coutinho a no-go, Dybala an ambitious maybe and a right-back likely, it seems Tottenham could bring in as many as four new faces this deadline day.
