Newcastle United could now reportedly sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and Alan Shearer said the player dominated them last season.
After Spurs beat Newcastle 3-2 at St James’ Park last season, Shearer told Premier League Productions that Ndombele found it easy after bagging a goal and putting in an impressive display.
Ndombele has found himself frozen out of the Spurs squad and spent the second half of last season on loan at his former club Lyon.
Conte doesn’t seem to see the 25-year-old in his future plans but Shearer was certainly impressed with one of his displays last season.

The Newcastle legend said: “He is a frustrating player, Ndombele. There is no doubt that he has the talent in there, which I think, from a Spurs point of view, he can do much more often.
“He played really, really well today – they (Newcastle’s midfield) didn’t do anything to protect the back four, that’s why the midfield, particularly Ndombele, found it easy to play.”
Newcastle could sign Ndombele
French outlet Media Foot reports that the Magpies are now looking to sign Ndombele this summer, nearly a year after the player ‘found it easy’ against them.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Villarreal are also in talks with Spurs over a possible loan deal for the midfielder while discussing a move for his teammate Giovani Lo Celso.
But Eddie Howe’s men are in pole position to land the midfielder, according to Media Foot.

Ndombele became Spurs’ record-signing back in the summer of 2019 but just hasn’t justified the price tag in North London so far.
The French midfielder put in some promising displays under former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho but has failed to become a regular starter ever since.
The former Lyon man now seems set to move on this summer and Eddie Howe may think he can get the best out of the player at St James’ Park.
