Leeds United want Southampton outcast Fraser Forster to help ease their goalkeeping woes this month, according to the Daily Star.
The towering goalkeeper’s star has fallen rapidly in recent months; the man who has been part of England squads for a World Cup and a European Championship is now behind countrymen Alex McCarthy and Angus Gunn at St Mary’s.
And with Bailey Peacock-Farrell Leeds’ only senior goalkeeping option, the Star report that Marcelo Bielsa sees the former Celtic man as capable of providing competition for the number one spot.
Bielsa is doing a fantastic job of keeping Leeds moving forward with a threadbare squad but needs reinforcements this month in order to sustain that promotion push.

Forster is a good shot-stopper – although the way he has fallen out of favour at St Mary’s is clearly some reflection on his quality – but Bielsa needs his goalkeepers to be good with their feet also.
It is there – much like Joe Hart at Manchester City – where Forster may fall down; he is a more old-school goalkeeper whose distribution and quality in possession can sometimes be lacking.
Leeds clearly want someone first and foremost who can keep the ball out of the net – and Forster, provided he is not too rusty, is a better bet than Peacock-Farrell on that score.
But in possession, he lacks something, and given Bielsa’s insistence on flowing football, that could pose a headache if he did eventually move to Elland Road.
