Adam Forshaw has told the Daily Mail how Jesse Marsch shocked the Leeds United squad on the training ground by ripping into Illan Meslier on one occasion after a couple of sloppy passes.
Marsch has impressed many since succeeding Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road. Of course, it does appear that the two managers have extremely different man-management styles.

From the outside, it seemed that Bielsa kept his players at arm’s length. Meanwhile, Marsch looks to be a lot closer. And that change served Leeds well as they fought their way out of trouble at the end of last season.
Marsch shocked the Leeds squad
Marsch is clearly a positive character. And you can imagine players wanting to run through a brick wall for him. However, there is another side to the 48-year-old.
Marsch had already clashed with Bruno Lage on the opening day when he was sent off during the defeat to Brentford before the international break.

And it seems that the players have also been on the receiving end of his wrath. Forshaw explained to Danny Murphy how Marsch is not afraid to demand extremely high standards of his players.
“We were doing phase play in training and IIlan Meslier gave a slow pass out, a sloppy one. Jesse ordered him to do it again, which the lads weren’t expecting,” he told the Daily Mail.
“Illan gave another slow one and Jesse has ripped into him. Five minutes later, the gaffer is laughing, saying ‘I still love you’. It was a different side from the manager that the lads respect.”
Marsch’s positivity seemed to give everyone a much-needed lift last season. There was almost a period of mourning following the departure of Bielsa. And you could tell that the players felt it too as many posted heartfelt messages to the Argentinian.
There would have been some tough conversations along the way. It is almost easy to forget how bleak things looked for Leeds under Marsch at one stage.
But you can imagine Marsch wanted to ensure that the players’ head did not drop.
Now however, Leeds are under a different kind of pressure. Marsch has had a pre-season and a transfer window to help get more of the squad he wants.
This is the time where his team will really be judged. And asking more of the players in this period of the season may make a big difference when the business end rolls around.
