James Forrest has been reborn this season and he is in the form of his life.

For both Celtic and Scotland, Forrest has emerged as a key player, helping both sides to achieve their respective targets lately.

The Celtic winger has always been a decent player for Celtic, but he has really shot to prominence as a crucial member of the starting line-up this season.

The turning point seemed to be his red card against Red Bull Salzburg in the Europa League in early October.

Since then, Forrest has been sensational, scoring seven goals in seven games for Celtic, including hitting four past St Johnstone.

Scotland needed a saviour but Forrest had failed to score an international goal in 24 attempts before these two crucial UEFA Nations League matches.

But the diminutive winger scored twice to beat Albania and then netted a hat-trick in Scotland’s 3-2 win over Israel to seal an unlikely promotion and Euro 2020 play-off spot.

Forrest’s recent resurgence has coincided with Scott Sinclair’s significant drop in form.

Sinclair was once the goal scoring winger who was leading Celtic to glory but Forrest has now taken the baton from the Englishman.

His recent heroics for club and country have given him newfound confidence which Celtic fans will be hoping to see more of.
