Tottenham Hotspur sealed a sixth-placed finish in the Premier League, meaning the north London club will play in the Europa League next season.
Spurs could only manage a 1-1 draw against out-of-form Crystal Palace on the final day, but Wolverhampton Wanderers losing 2-0 to Chelsea meant they leapfrogged Nuno Espirito Santo’s side due to a better goal difference.

It has been a fairly strong finish to the season for Tottenham, going their final six games unbeaten.
There were scenes of jubilation shortly after the final whistle as Mourinho and his coaches learned their efforts had been rewarded with European football next season.
One man who wasn’t particularly impressed though was former Spurs star Mido, who took to Twitter to question the Portuguese on Monday.
He wrote: “Jose Mourinho’s celebration with his back room staff after finishing 6th is the biggest sign that people change!! The man wld have never done that 5 years ago..I mean don’t get me wrong I think he’s done a good job but watching him celebrating like we won something made me sad!!”
One thing is for sure, Spurs securing European football is surely a big positive from a financial point of view.
TBR’s View – Mourinho love for Europa League clear
Of course there are bigger trophies in football than the Europa League, but that won’t matter to Mourinho.

It is clear he values Europe’s second-biggest club competition, having of course won it with Manchester United in 2017.
It will be a frustration for Tottenham fans not seeing Champions League football, but Mourinho’s proven record in the Europa League might just help them go far in the 2020/21 competition – ultimately, winning trophies is why he was brought in.
