Former Everton midfielder Thomas Gravesen has delivered his verdict on his old club this season, saying the situation ‘looks weird’ from where he’s sitting.
The Toffees have made a worrying start to the season and sit 17th after 14 games.
The club are just two points above the relegation zone, and Marco Silva is very much on the brink.

Next up for Everton is cross-city rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday, and failure to get a positive result could spell the end for the Portuguese.
Given the money that was spent in the summer, Everton’s positioning in the table is extremely disappointing for the fans, and Gravesen has attempted to put his finger on why it has gone wrong.
He told Sky Sports News: “I’m sad because it’s a fantastic club, a great club, and there’s some great players at the moment. I don’t know what it is that they can’t make it work. It looks weird from where I’m sitting.

“Nobody can work under these circumstances. What they need is a couple of success stories, a couple of wins, a couple of good games, because they have the players for it.
“When you look on paper at the players Everton have, they’re fantastic players. They just need to gel more.”
TBR’s view – Players must step up
Silva has certainly made mistakes this season but the players have massively underperformed.

The manager can only do so much – if his players cut out the basic errors and mistakes they would be in a much healthier position in the table.
As Gravesen says, they are great players, but they aren’t clicking as they should be right now.
