Leeds United travel to struggling Reading tonight looking to keep their automatic promotion hopes on course in what looks like a three-horse race for the top two spots.
It should be a reasonably straight-forward three points but Reading will be riding high after their last-gasp weekend victory over fellow relegation-battlers Wigan and Leeds have struggled for consistency of late.
One man who has impressed for the Royals this term despite their overall poor form is Andy Yiadom, who joined last summer following Barnsley’s relegation to League One.
But the Sheffield Star reported back in May 2018 that Leeds, then managed by Yiadom’s former Tykes manager Paul Heckingbottom were also keen on the versatile, powerful defender.
And Yiadom has the opportunity to show Leeds exactly what they’re missing; and in a season in which they have often been short defensively, he may have proved useful.
As well as looking to boost the Royals’ survival hopes, Yiadom has an opportunity to show that he may well have been able to do a job at the other end of the table.
The defender may well be set for a second straight relegation from the second tier and that could see him move again during the summer.
If he impresses, Leeds may well be tempted to resume their interest.
