Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has revealed he told Andy Robertson he thinks he’s the best left-back in world football.
The Scotland captain was one of the Reds’ best players as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the Champions League final last weekend.

It was only the latest of a string of amazing performances from the 25-year-old, who is probably one of the biggest bargain signings the club has ever made.
His contributions to the team are vital, and Spaniard Enrique reckons he is second to none now in terms of the left-back position.
He told liverpoolfc.com: “I said to him after the [Champions League] game at the party, for me, he has been the best left-back in the world this year.

“Jordi Alba has been good as well but he [Robertson] has been unbelievable. He’s given a lot of assists, contributed to the team offensively and defensively as well.
“He has been, for me, one of the best players for Liverpool this year.”
TBR’s view
Barcelona full-back Alba is many people’s pick as being the best in his position and is widely considered world-class.
He has been fantastic for Barca since joining the club in 2012.

But Robertson certainly runs him close now having been so consistent over the past couple of years.
The former Hull City ace has incredible work rate, is a solid defender and is a quality attacking outlet. And it has never mattered which competition he’s played in, he always gives a high level.
With Alba now 30, a decline could be in the offing – which could leave Robertson to go and establish himself as the undisputed best left-back.
