Former Liverpool chief Damien Comolli believes great leadership has helped his former club become one of the best teams in Europe.
The former director of football has been blown away by the progress made by the Anfield club in recent years, and attributes those huge strides made to Jurgen Klopp and the leadership he has instilled since his arrival.

Klopp scooped his second trophy as Liverpool boss on Wednesday night, with the team beating Chelsea on penalties to win the UEFA Super Cup.
Summer signing Adrian – in for the injured Alisson – was the hero at Vodafone Park, saving Tammy Abraham’s spot-kick.
Speaking before the game, Comolli said on talkSPORT: “I was lucky to attend the Champions League final in Madrid for French TV and the feeling I got from this Liverpool team was they had so much determination, that nothing could stop them from lifting the trophy at the end of the game.

“I think that comes from leadership, leadership being Klopp and players like Jordan Henderson and Virgil van Dijk.
“The biggest credit I will give Klopp is he’s created self-belief in the team, that nothing can stop them.”
TBR’s view
Comolli is spot on with his assessment.
Not only do Liverpool have great players now, but the leadership coursing through the team is clear for all to see.

The likes of Alisson, van Dijk, Henderson and James Milner are all major forces both in the dressing room and on the pitch.
£140,000-a-week ace Henderson’s (Spotrac) rise under Klopp has been especially evident.
It is something that threatens to turn Liverpool into an absolute force for as long as Klopp remains the manager.
