Former Leeds striker Peter Swan claims Jarrod Bowen would guarantee promotion

Former Leeds forward Peter Swan has claimed that if the club sign Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen, they will all but guarantee promotion. The Sun has reported that the club could make a loan bid of around £3 million for the forward to boost their promotion hopes.

Bowen has been extremely impressive for Hull this season and is attracting suitors from both of the top two divisions. He has scored 16 goals and provided five assists in 28 Championship appearances. There is no doubt that the Englishman is one of the league’s top players and would make a real difference to Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Leeds are keen to replace Eddie Nketiah, who returned to Arsenal this month after spending the first half of the season on loan at Elland Road. Bowen would be some replacement, and former Hull and Leeds man Swan feels that it could be a season-defining factor.

When speaking to Hull Live, he said: ”If either West Brom or Leeds buy Bowen it would guarantee promotion for either side, he would make all the difference. You look at the goals he scores, the way he troubles defences and the chances he creates, he would make all the difference for Leeds or West Brom.”

The Whites are just one point behind the Baggies as things stand. If either team adds the quality and goalscoring prowess of Bowen this month, they could run away with it. It will be fascinating to see where the 23-year-old is playing his football on the 1st of February.
