Everton are reportedly interested in a move for Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn. TEAMtalk is reporting that Everton are keen on the Scottish international, especially if Aston Villa find themselves relegated from the Premier League.
McGinn was quickly proving himself as a Premier League quality player after helping his side to promotion last season.
However, he soon found himself on the sidelines due to injury but Everton are clearly not put off by that fact.
One man who would certainly suggest Everton go for McGinn is their former boss David Moyes.

The fellow Scot, who nowadays is managing Premier League rivals West Ham United, is a long-term fan of McGinn.
Back in 2017, Moyes was hoping to bring the midfield maestro to Sunderland, according to the Daily Mail, even watching him in action against Dundee United for former club Hibernian. However, Moyes was sacked by Sunderland that summer, as the Black Cats were relegated to the Championship. McGinn stuck with Hibs for a season before joining Aston Villa for a reported (Express and Star) £2.75 million in 2018.
Moyes then called McGinn a revelation on talkSPORT back in August, following the Scotsman’s goal against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
“There’s a few (Scottish) boys starting to come through. The biggest thing is that John McGinn has come down and been a revelation.”
Whilst Moyes might have a patchy record in recent years, he oversaw Everton’s signature of star players such as Tim Cahill, Phil Jagielka and Joleon Lescott who all first made their names in the Championship.
McGinn easily looks capable of a similar impact if Everton decide to swoop.
