Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has found himself mocked by Celtic cult hero Chris Sutton after he claimed that the Ibrox club “makes Glasgow”.
Earlier this week, the Rangers manager wrote a passionate letter to the Ibrox fanbase on the Gers website ahead of the club’s season ticket launch.
Gerrard announced in the wide-ranging address to Bears that prices will be frozen and the deadline to purchase briefs has been extended.

In it, he wrote that “football makes a city, Rangers makes Glasgow”.
That particular comment, which the Daily Record went with as its headline, led to quite a few Celtic fans mocking the statement, given the Hoops have been Glasgow’s more successful team over the past few years.
Sutton, in particular, went with the following:
At the start of this season, there was a lot of optimism around Ibrox as Gerrard had built a high-calibre team at Rangers.
Indeed, his strongest line-up has definitely shown it can more than match Celtic’s strongest XI.
However, Rangers’ domestic form dipped massively after the winter break, losing far too many points, while Celtic were relentless and now sit on the brink of a ninth title in a row.
