Former Arsenal midfielder and Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas believes there are problems between Tottenham’s players and Daniel Levy.

In his Sky Sports column, Nicholas predicted that Spurs would lose at the hands of back-to-back champions Manchester City and hinted at wider problems.

He said: “There is a spark in my brain that questions where Mauricio Pochettino thinks he is? It is a judgement of where his team is at. What team will Pep Guardiola pick?

“I think there are issues at Tottenham, but it is not the manager’s making. It’s between the players and owners, but I see problems here for Tottenham.”

TBR’s View – Likely just a former Gunner stirring the pot across town or something more?

You only have to look at how enthusiastically Nicholas discusses Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Newcastle and their summer business in comparison to Tottenham to see his allegiances remain so strong.

It’s hardly surprising that a former Arsenal man would look to talk up the potential problems with their rivals, especially now Spurs are an established Champions League club and the Gunners are not.

That said, the Times report today that Levy could face a mass exodus because of how contract negotiations have been handled.

It could be a happy coincidence, or perhaps Nicholas does know something and his comments hint at what the report outlines.
