Leeds United were dealt a blow this weekend with it confirmed that Jamal Blackman’s time at the club is up. The Chelsea loanee has suffered a broken leg and returned to London for treatment. His loan deal has been terminated.
It leaves Leeds struggling on the goalkeeper front. With Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s form being questioned he is now backed up by the very inexperienced Will Huffer.
But it might be the boost that one Leeds player needs.
Kamil Miazek joined Leeds on trial last season before signing a short-term deal in January. It was a deal orchestrated by the director of football Victor Orta, who signed many youngsters to the Leeds under-23 set-up. After impressing in seven appearances for the under-23s, he was handed a one year deal at Thorp Arch.

The Polish stopper, previously of Feyenoord, would have been hoping to push for first-team involvement this season. However, the arrival of Blackman even saw him benched for Carlos Corberan’s under-23 side.
Now, however, the 22-year-old can now challenge Huffer for second-choice in the weeks to come. When he signed his new deal in the summer, Polish source Skuaci reported that Miazek saw himself one day becoming Leeds’ number one goalkeeper.
With a new arrival, an option come January, Miazek has a little over a month to try and muscle his way into the first-team picture.
His deal at Leeds expires next summer. This may be his best opportunity to ensure he achieves a renewal.
