‘Forever a club legend’ – These Leicester fans react to Andy King’s departure
Leicester City have officially confirmed that Andy King has joined Rangers on a season-long loan deal.
The move marks the 30-year-old midfielder’s third loan spell in as many seasons, having already spent stints with Swansea City and Derby County. The truth is, Leicester have moved beyond King’s level. The Welshman can’t find a way into Brendan Rodgers’ side with the likes of James Maddison, Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet ahead of him in the pecking order.
King loves Leicester, and is beloved by the King Power Stadium faithful. He has previously spoken about wanting to be a one club man, having initially joined the Midlands outfit as a youth player. Although King’s dream of ending his career with Leicester does not look set to come true, he can reflect on some glorious times with the club.

King has been with the Foxes for fifteen years. He made his first team debut for the club against Wolves in 2007. Since then he has racked up 375 appearances for Leicester in all competitions. His 61 goals make him the highest scoring midfielder in the Foxes’ history. He has also amassed silverware at the King Power Stadium. He played a key role in three separate title triumphs: winning League One in 2009, topping the pile in the Championship in 2014, and securing a shock Premier League crown in 2016.
Given his current contract is set to expire next summer, the 50-cap Wales international will likely never play for the club again. However, he has secured his status as a Leicester legend. Following the confirmation of his loan departure, plenty of emotional Foxes fans took to Twitter to respond to the news.
it’s a shame as in the interview he did you could tell he wanted to break back into the Leicester squad, as he considers the club family, he also looked good in pre season, hope he help Rangers beat Celtic.

Good luck Andy thank you for all you have done for Leicester City. A true legend. Better playing for Rangers than either Derby or Forest they are just not thinkable. You could never be comfortable in either of those shirts. A almost 50 year fan xx
