‘Following the great Grealish footsteps’: Some Aston Villa fans wowed by 18-year-old’s display yesterday

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to praise Aaron Ramsey for his latest impressive display for the Villans U23s.

The 18-year-old attacker has been making waves in the Villa academy, scoring six goals and picking up three assists in 13 games for the U18s last season.

Ramsey was promoted to the U23s this term, making him one of the youngest members in the squad, and has registered five goals and three assists in 14 appearances.

He was especially impressive in the Premier League 2 victory over Sunderland’s U23s on Monday, netting a brace and also contributing an assist.

After a goalless first half at the Academy of Light, Josh Hawkes handed the hosts the initiative after 48 minutes.

However, Ramsey struck twice in three minutes to put Villa ahead before Bradley Young and Stephen Wearne scored late on for a 3-2 victory to the visitors.

With Jacob Ramsey now in the Villa senior team and Aaron knocking on the first-team’s door through his great U23s displays, fans are excited about the prospect of the two brothers becoming key players in claret and blue.

Here is what some fans were saying about Aaron’s latest display:
