Folarin Balogun has told Stadium Astro that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta keeps telling him to ‘keep faith’.
Keeping the faith
Balogun signed a new long-term contract at Arsenal recently, but his first-team chances have remained limited.
The young striker did start Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Brentford, but he has not been seen in the first-team since.
Arsenal have continued to struggle after losing to Brentford since then, and have yet to score.
That may just increase Balogun’s chances of featuring again, as Arteta looks far a spark in attack.
And Arteta is encouraging the youngster to trust him, as he will get opportunities.
“The boss just tells me to keep faith,” Balogun said.
“Part of the reason why I signed is because I have faith in him and the project he’s trying to do.
“Of course the boss has a style of play and philosophy, like every other coach would. But it’s just a case of believing in what he says.
“It’s clear the ambition he has for the club, he wants us back in Europe and fighting for top trophies and competing at the highest level again.”

Vote of confidence
Arteta may still have the trust of Balogun, but it is fair to say that not every Arsenal supporters sees his vision so clearly any more.
Arteta is now under significant pressure at the Emirates Stadium, after an abject start to the season.
Arsenal are yet to even pick up a point in the Premier League, with the Gunners currently rooted to the bottom of the table.
Arteta’s side are next in action against Norwich City, when it will be interesting to see if Balogun is included in the match day squad, after his recent vote of confidence in the Spaniard.
