2) Lucas Otavio – Santos (£3.5-5 million)

I first discovered Lucas Otavio when playing a friend in the first few days of FM16. He had brought him into his Hoffenheim side with a number of other Brazilians against my Gladbach side – they slaughtered me. Since then I have always looked to sign this gifted youngster.

Otavio is an ideal box-to-box midfielder and would easily go into most Premier League teams. He is definitely the most expensive player on this list but he is so well rounded.

Otavio does not have a single important technical stat under 11 and is mentally solid to boot. At 20 years old there is plenty of room for him to improve as well so beware of the interest of Europe’s big guns after a season in your side.
