5) Ole Kristian Selnaes – Rosenborg (£1-2 million)
Selnaes is actually one of the most solid midfielders I have used so far on FM16 and is easily worth a lot more than his price tag. Not only does he come cheap, but his wages are under 10k as well.
When I use Selnaes I fit him into one of two positions. In my 4-3-3 he plays as a deep-lying playmaker defend so that he patrols the front of my defence and distributes to more energetic players.
His main fault is that he is his lack of pace – if he is surrounded by slow midfielders and defenders, he will be exposed very easily. However, technically he fills in that role perfectly. He actually displaced Gokhan Inler from my Leicester side which is not easily done either.
Selnaes is also a capable advanced playmaker support from the centre of midfield too. His accurate passing and good vision make him an ideal back up for your first choice player. If you are looking for cover for several positions as well as somebody who will grow very quickly, then this young Norwegian is a great pick.
