Florian Thauvin is enjoying a pretty fruitful start to the 2020/21 season so far – and Aston Villa might just want to look away.
The French maestro has arguably been Marseille’s star in a turbulent beginning.
Andre Villas-Boas’ side are fifth in the French league table, but have lost all three of their Champions League games so far.

Thauvin has been a shining light though, contributing three goals and five assists in eight league games so far.
His form comes after it was reported in August that Aston Villa were one of a few teams interested in signing him.
Tuttomercatoweb explained that Marseille had placed a £13.5 million asking price on the player.
Thauvin ultimately stayed put, with Villa going on to land a player from another French club Lyon in Bertrand Traore, who has made one goal in seven appearances.
The Burkina Faso international is yet to start in the Premier League though as he goes through a transition period at Villa Park.
TBR’s View – Thauvin definitely worth watching
Dean Smith will probably be fairly happy with his squad, and the club have certainly made a great start to 2020/21.

But Thauvin has looked very lively this term, and is a totally different player these days to the one that struggled with Newcastle United a few years ago.
After pretty much missing all of 2019/29 with injury, Thauvin has picked up where he left off in 2018/19 where he scored 18 goals and made nine assists.
His contract expires next year, and so surely he is well worth keeping an eye on as a potential future free signing for Villa.
