Edouard has been mentioned as a name Arsenal are interested in over the last few weeks. The 22-goal striker is seen as a potential replacement for the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette at the Emirates.

And speaking to Goal, the Frenchman – who has just been named Scottish Writers Footballer of the Year – claims his mind is firmly focussed on Celtic for now.

However, he admitted he was aware of interest from the Gunners and that he was unsure of what might happen in the future.

My first target right now is to play football again after so much time away from the pitch. I only set personal targets for myself once the season actually starts. At the moment, I am still under contract with Celtic and my priority is to get back playing again. In the future, we will see what happens.

Quizzed further on his future with the Bhoys and a potential Arsenal move, Edouard conceded that having other clubs take notice of him is a good thing, adding:

It shows you are working hard and doing the right things as a player. It is flattering, but I just concentrate on trying to play well for Celtic

The 22-year-old is contracted to Celtic until 2022. However, Neil Lennon is keen to extend that deal. If no new deal is signed, then Lennon may well choose to cash in while the iron is hot.

Normally players will keep quiet if they are determined to just stay where they are but Edouard’s admission that he knows of interest in him suggests the odd conversation has been had.

He’ll know full well the amount of money he can earn in the Premier League. Furthermore, he’ll be well aware that his chance might not come around again.

It’s the first real indication from the Celtic man that his head may be turned. And while he has played down the rumours with his comments too, it wouldn’t be a massive surprise to see him at the Emirates come the end of the summer.
