Five youngsters that could make their Premier League breakthrough this season

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has been responsible for a number of breakout stars over the last few years and Marcus Edwards could be the next player to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Eric Dier and Luke Shaw.

The 17-year-old has starred in Spurs’s pre-season tour of Australia, and is regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in the country at present. Pochettino has shown that he is always willing to give youngsters a chance to prove themselves so it would be no surprise if the young midfielder, alongside fellow teenager Josh Onomah, played a part in the first-team set-up this season. With the North London club hoping to challenge on multiple fronts this season, there will almost certainly be opportunities for Edwards.
