Five youngsters that could make their Premier League breakthrough this season

Ben Chilwell

Despite making no Premier League appearances in Leicester City’s title winning campaign, the left-back is highly regarded at the King Power Stadium and has reportedly been the subject of interest from Arsenal and Liverpool this summer. Chilwell instead signed a new five-year-deal with the Foxes, which shows exactly how highly thought of he is by his current club.

Despite being a crucial component of last season’s success, Christian Fuchs would be wise to watch his back this season as it would be no surprise to see the 19-year-old displace the Austrian international as Claudio Ranieri’s first-choice left-back. Chilwell made eight appearances during a two-month loan spell at Huddersfield Town last season, and those who watched him were thoroughly impressed with the youngster’s defensive and attacking ability despite his tender age. Defensive lapses are an increasingly common trait in young full-backs these days, but this is not the case with Chilwell, something that will stand him in good stead if he is to get an opportunity with the Foxes in 2016/17.
