Lewis Cook

One of the Football League’s hottest prospects for a number of years now, the 19-year-old will be hopeful of following in the footsteps of Dele Alli by showing that he is able to step up his game even further when playing with better players. After impressing at Leeds United, the Football League’s Young Player of the Year, signed for Bournemouth this summer for a fee of £7 million, rising to £10 million with add-ons.

Although there were rumours that bigger clubs were interested, Cherries boss Eddie Howe was able to convince Cook to make the move to the south coast as he attempts to build on last season’s 16th-placed finish. So far in his career, Howe has developed a reputation as one of the country’s brightest young coaches so Cook’s development is certainly in good hands for the foreseeable future. Had he made the move to one of the Premier League’s bigger clubs then the midfielder may not have been afforded much game time, but that should not be the case at Bournemouth. If Cook can continue his rapid progress from the past few years then there is no reason why he can’t make a big impact this season.
