Former Manchester United defender John O’Shea has been singing the praises of Tottenham Hotspur youngster Troy Parrott this week. The Irishman, who won the Premier League five times during his time at Old Trafford, was speaking to RTE in Ireland this week when the topic turned to the teenage striker.

He suggested that Parrott must be doing something right if he has caught the eye of both Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho in recent months.

“It’s huge, it really is. Obviously, there’s a lot of hype about him but Mourinho has obviously seen something in training.

“Whether it be his personality, his physicality. You’re not going to be able to play in Premier League if you’re (not) physically able to cope with it.

“Pochettino had him in training with the first team too. If you’re impressing Mourinho and Pochettino, you must be doing something right.”

TBR’s View

There is no doubt that Parrott has plenty of talent and fans of club, and especially nation, are very excited about his future.

Tonight he is expected to feature for Tottenham against German giants Bayern Munich in their Champions League dead rubber and it will be interesting to see how he fares in that fixture.

O’Shea is clearly of the belief that Parrott has what it takes to go all the way in his professional career.

Tottenham appear to have a similar feeling about the player, who is looking increasingly likely to play a part for the first-team throughout the 2019-20 campaign.
