Last season, Newcastle were awful away from home and managed to take only nine points on the road. That has been fixed by Benitez and the Magpies picked up the most points away from home in the division. They have conceded just three goals away from St James’ Park and picked up an impressive 19 points from eight matches. Newcastle now have an established game plan and are much better at managing matches. If they maintain their away form, they should be able to comfortably stay in top spot.

Dwight Gayle was misused at Crystal Palace

At the time of his signing, Newcastle supporters were unsure about Dwight Gayle as he failed to break into the Crystal Palace side. They wanted to see their side target players that could make an impact in the Premier League once they got back there. Since joining, Gayle has not only showed that he has the ability to do well in the Premier League, but he has the mentality to match. He opted to take the number nine shirt and made an instant impact. The striker is currently the top scorer in the division and has showed that he can score different types of goals, which is important for a Newcastle number nine. He should be targeting 25 goals this season and return to the Premier League brimming with confidence.
