Alvaro Morata
Possibly the least likely of the five strikers to head to the Emirates, but also the most desirable, is Alvaro Morata. Re-signed by Real Madrid this summer, and his new club have stated that he will be remaining at the Bernabeu next season under Zinedine Zidane, but both Arsenal and Chelsea are said to be monitoring the situation with the Spaniard unconvinced that he will get enough playing time.
The 23-year-old scored 12 in 47 last season before scoring four goals at a rate of one per game in an impressive campaign at the Euros, but he won’t come cheap for either side with Chelsea reportedly having had a £62 million bid rejected.
Morata would suit the quick, possession style of play that Arsenal usually stick to, and would certainly provide a different option to Olivier Giroud, but there may be doubts over whether he has the strength to fight against some of the Premier League’s rougher sides, as Arsenal have been criticised for lacking frequently since their last title winning side was dismantled.
