A lack of desire within the team
Last time QPR were in the Premier League, they were lucky to get there.
On the 24th of May 2014, they played very poorly in the play-off final against Derby. Rangers had a man sent off and if it hadn’t been for Bobby Zamora, who scored in the final minute of normal time, they would have been heading straight back to the Championship instead of Derby. However, they won the match and earned promotion at the first time of asking since their relegation.
This should have given them the desire and determination to do everything they could to stay in the Premier League. It seemed to have the opposite effect. It was often a guessing game with the West London side as to which QPR would turn up. Would it be the team who put up a fight and could hold their heads high at the end of a game? Or would it be the team who just rolled over and allowed teams to thrash them?
Unfortunately for long-suffering QPR fans, it was usually the latter. They did not get their first away win until the 10th of February when they beat Sunderland by two goals to nil. By the end of the 2014/15 season, they deserved relegation. This complacency is still present in the current QPR squad. They are constantly conceding late goals which obviously means they are dropping crucial points.
