Five possible loan destinations for Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere

Juventus

The Serie A champions are currently the favourites to sign Wilshere, and would offer the opportunity for the player to move abroad and not strengthen a Premier League team. With Joe Hart on the verge of a move to Torino, England could see two of their squad players playing in Italy. A move abroad may be exactly what Wilshere needs – a new league and culture, fresh slate, Champions League, opportunity to win trophies while still playing for a club that he has to fight to get into, which could be a good or a bad thing. Juventus could also do with a player to replace Paul Pogba, after his record move to Manchester United.

West Ham

It could be safer for Wilshere to stay in the Premier League and build his fitness up with the robust nature of the league. West Ham could offer that, while not necessarily becoming dangerous to Arsenal in the meantime. West Ham could offer first team football, in a midfield with Mark Noble and Cheick Kouyate. Slaven Bilic may be tempted to bring Wilshere to the London Stadium, and give him an opportunity to express himself and get himself back to the player he could be, all while staying in the same city where he lives.

Valencia

It’s no exaggeration to say that Valencia need some players, and to cheer their fans up. The imminent sales of Shkodran Mustafi and Paco Alcacer, along with a poor start to the season has left things all over the place. It was reported that Gary Neville tried to get Wilshere while in charge last year, and this move make’s sense. Wilshere does play a game suited to La Liga, and he would get an opportunity to move abroad, experience a different league with first-team football, and play against the best. Just like with West Ham, there would be no European football, but maybe that would work better for Wilshere and his fitness regime. With Mustafi going to Arsenal, maybe a deal could be done the other way?
