Idrissa Gueye – Everton

This may come from left-field, but Idrissa Gueye would improve the Tottenham squad in several ways. He is very similar to N’Golo Kante in his style of play and there are few better than the Frenchman in a two-man midfield, given his work rate and ball-winning abilities.

Under the right coaching, Gueye could become as good as his fellow midfielder and he has done enough during his time at Everton to earn a move to a bigger club.

Tottenham have three excellent midfielders in Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele, but they need another if they are to compete on multiple fronts.

Gueye would provide a different profile and he is another that would benefit a lot from the guidance of Pochettino. It would be an ambitious signing, but one that would carry relatively little risk, as he would fit in nicely.
