Nicolae Stanciu – Romania have been yearning for a dynamic number ten since the days of Gheorghe Hagi and
they now have an exciting talent in their ranks. Nicolae Stanciu made his debut this year and has already got four goals for his country.
He is small, and is incredible on the ball, capable of beating players easily. He is one of the few players in this Romanian side that could play at the highest level and is likely to attract interest with his performances this summer.
Stanciu is more than capable of creating moments of magic out of nothing, and his goal return for Romania already shows that he is already one of the side’s leading players.
Kingsley Coman – The Frenchman has already made a name for himself and is one of the most exciting young players in Europe. He is set to turn 20 years of age only a matter of days after the tournament kicks off, and he is another Frenchman who could become one of the best players in the world one day.
Coman scored twice and got five assists in the Champions League, showing that he belongs on the biggest stage. He will want to prove himself for France and his excellent dribbling abilities could be very important.
France are likely to line up with Olivier Giroud flanked by two wide forwards, with Anthony Martial and Antoine Griezmann the most probable members of the squad to fill those roles. Coman could be used as an impact sub, which could suit him well as he is quick, dynamic and capable of producing match-winning moments.
Lorik Cana – He is the most established player in the Albania squad and will lead them into their first international tournament. Cana is deployed as a centre-back and is important to their hopes this summer.
Albania conceded just five goals during the qualification campaign, and the leadership of Lorik Cana was central to that. Cana has played in some of Europe’s biggest leagues and that experience will be vital to Albania’s hopes in this tournament.
Albania are; on paper, the worst side in this group, but they have a chance of advancing as they have two winnable matches. In those games in particular, Cana will be needed to play well, organising the back four and leading by example.
He is excellent in the air, and could prove to be a threat from set pieces, perhaps Albania’s best chance of scoring this summer.
