Ivan Perisic – Inter Milan
The Croatian winger was a revelation in the group stages of EURO 2016, arguably cementing his place as one of his nation’s most important players, despite having illustrious team mates in Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic and Mario Mandzukic.
The 27-year-old has played for many top European clubs, such as Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg and currently Inter Milan over the years, but I believe the Croat deserves to be playing at one of the very top clubs in Europe, with all due respect to Frank de Boer’s Milan.
Perisic has a great turn of pace, exquisite ball control, the skills in his back pocket to beat his man and the composure to score. 85 goals in over 298 games for a winger speaks for itself.
Inter Milan are a big club in their own right, but after his dazzling performances for Croatia in France, Perisic deserves to be part of a team who will be in the Champions League and properly challenging for domestic honours. A return to Dortmund would have suited if Schurrle hadn’t transferred, but should Riyad Mahrez leave Leicester City, the Foxes could provide the ideal platform for success for Perisic.
