Known more as the forgotten man these days, the youngster that burst onto to scene under David Moyes has gone missing at Old Trafford in recent seasons.

A barren spell at United was followed by a loan move to Borussia Dortmund, during which he only made 12 appearances before having his loan spell terminated.

At 18-years-old he was the only good thing to come out of United’s horror first season without Sir Alex Ferguson, with the two goals away to Sunderland the obvious highlight. However, after earning 35 appearances in the 2013/14 season, last year he made just 19 in total.

He will be hoping to impress Mourinho in the summer and he needs to. A poor pre-season could spell the end of a United career which started out so promising.
