Although not strictly signings that could be made, how successful Arsenal will be in the Premier League next season will no doubt be determined by whether Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil stay.

The German midfielder didn’t endure the best of seasons but his quality is unquestionable, and the latest reports from The Sun suggest he is on the verge of a mammoth £280,000-per-week deal.

Sanchez himself was directly involved in just under 50% of Arsenal’s Premier League tally this season, scoring 24 times and assisting ten, and take these away and they would have been in dire straits.

If Wenger can get the influential duo to sign new deals then it will make a statement going into the transfer window – and who knows, it could help persuade a few top-quality players into joining too.
