Ronald Koeman
The only Premier League boss who is considered a realistic possibility is Everton’s Ronald Koeman. Mauricio Pochettino has been linked, but his past with city rivals Espanyol and lack of understanding of the club’s DNA could mean that he wouldn’t make the final shortlist.
Koeman, who spent a number of years at the club during his playing career, making 192 appearances and scoring 67 goals over a six year spell, but is not the popular figure that many in England perceive him to be. Whilst well-liked, he is not the most fondly remembered of the side that was so successful under Johan Cryuff’s management.
Everton would be reluctant to allow him to leave, and his performance in his first season at Goodison Park has failed to do anything to suggest that he is the highest quality option available to Barcelona. That said, his good track record with youth development could appeal.
