Reported fee: £15million

After a reported bust up with a member of the backroom staff, Townsend has been left out of the first team squad at Tottenham since October 2015. With EURO 2016 just round the corner, the 24 year old must be thinking about getting the game time that would get him back into Roy Hodgson’s squad.

Although a reported fee of £15million might see Newcastle leave Townsend alone, this type of exciting pacy winger was what was expected of Florian Thauvin when he signed in the summer. The Geordie fans have always loved these types of players at the club including Laurent Robert, David Ginola and Hatem Ben Arfa, all of whom have had disciplinary issues so that is unlikely to put them off Townsend.
