Sam Byram

Current Club: Leeds United

Position: Right Back

Reported fee: £5million

The 22 year old academy prospect has been touted for a move to the Premier League for a few windows, and with his contract due to expire at the end of the current campaign, now feels like the time. Leeds manager Steve Evans has already confirmed that the club have spoken to ‘two top flight clubs’ who are trying to get a signature before the bidding war starts in the summer.

In Byram’s position Newcastle already have Dutch International full back Daryll Janmaat, who has been impressive so far in what is a poor first half of the season for the Magpies. With that, I don’t see Byram being able to take his place off him however, all top clubs need to have competition for places, and with the current understudy being Kevin Mbabu I can certainly see Newcastle wanting to explore this possible signing.
